Prof. Giuseppe Buja

Giuseppe Buja is known as Mr. Modulation. It’s a well-deserved title given his fundamental contributions to the field, such as his breakthrough concepts for distorting the modulating wave and optimizing the PWM wave. His research career in power electronics and drives is distinguished by outstanding achievements in numerous areas. In turn, these achievements have brought real technical advances in many commercial industries, from microcomputing for the control of power electronics equipment to electric vehicle powertrain and wireless charging. Buja has always done research with an eye on benefiting humanity. He is now focusing his talents on green energy and, if the past is prologue, we can look forward to significant progress in the field. An IEEE Life Fellow, Buja (retired) was a Professor at the University of Padova, Padova, Italy, and is the 2024 recipient of the IEEE Richard Harold Kaufmann Award for "fundamental contributions to modulation and control of industrial drives."

Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk

Janusz Kacprzyk (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree in automatic control from the Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland, in 1970, and the Ph.D. degree in systems analysis and the D.Sc. (“Habilitation”) degree in computer science from the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, in 1977 and 1990, respectively.,He was a Visiting Professor in the U.S., Italy, and China. He is currently a Professor of computer science with the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences. He is also a Professor with the Warsaw School of Information Technology, Polish Academy of Sciences, and with the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements, Warsaw. He has authored five books, is the editor or co-editor of 30 volumes, and has authored or coauthored 300 articles. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of four book series at Springer and two journals. His research interests include soft computing, fuzzy logic, and computing with words, in decisions and optimization, control, database querying, and information retrieval.,Dr. Kacprzyk is a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences. He is a fellow of the IFSA. He has received many awards, including the 2005 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Pioneer Award in Fuzzy Systems, the Sixth Kaufmann Prize, and the Gold Medal for pioneering works on soft computing in economics. He is currently the President of the Polish Society for Operational and Systems Research and the Immediate Past President of the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA).

Zhiquan Liu (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree from the School of Science, Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Computer Science and Technology, Xidian University in 2017. He is currently a full professor with the College of Cyber Security, Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. His current research focuses on security, trust, privacy, and intelligence in vehicular networks. He currently serves as the area editor or associate editor of multiple SCI-index journals, such as IEEE TIFS, IEEE TDSC, IEEE TII, IEEE IOTJ, Information Fusion, Computer Networks, Journal of Systems Architecture, Ad Hoc Networks, etc.

Prof. Frank Zhigang Wang

Frank Z. Wang (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in U.K., in 1999. In 1996, he designed and developed a new type of random access memory using the spin-tunnelling effect with Tohoku University, Japan. This device was the first of its kind worldwide. In 2004, he was appointed as the Chair Professor and the Director of the Centre for Grid Computing, Cambridge-Cranfield High Performance Computing Facility (CCHPCF). CCHPCF is a collaborative research facility with the Universities of Cambridge and Cranfield (with an investment size of £40 million). From 2010 to 2016, he was a Professor in future computing and the Head of the School of Computing, University of Kent, U.K. The School of Computing was formally opened by His Majesty the Queen. From 2017 to 2018, he spent his sabbatical with Tsinghua University. He has served on the UK Government EPSRC e-Science and Hardware for Efficient Computing Panels and the Irish Government High End Computing Panel for Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). He has been invited to deliver keynote speeches and invited talks to report his research worldwide, such as with Princeton University, Carnegie Mellon University, CERN, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University (Taiwan), Jawaharlal Nehru University, Aristotle University, and the University of Johannesburg. His research interests include memristors as a new computing paradigm, unconventional computing, deep learning, green computing, grid/cloud computing, data storage, and data communication. He is currently a Fellow of the British Computer Society. He and his team won the ACM/IEEE Super Computing Finalist Award, USA, in 2007. He is also the Chairman of the IEEE Computer Society in U.K. and Republic of Ireland Chapter.
